Accessibility Statement

High in the Knapped Colosseums of the Chalk Crown, Vollera Kestrel’s chartreuse tourmaline wing-vanes cast crisp boundary lines and clear sightlines across the sunlit stone so every spectator and player can read the rally without obstruction. FlintVolley is engineered to that same standard: an open, high-contrast British match-programme built to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.

Whether you browse with a keyboard, a screen reader, high-magnification zoom, or reduced-motion preferences, every game briefing, verified facts strip and official outbound link is structured to work cleanly and predictably.

Section I · Architectural Clarity

WCAG 2.2 AA Standards & Daylight Colour Contrast

We design and test every page of FlintVolley against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA specification. Because our visual world contrasts sunlit coastal chalk stone with deep knapped flint, high legibility is built directly into the materials of the site rather than bolted on afterwards.

Sunlit Chalk Plaques

Primary editorial passages and match briefings sit in deep obsidian and charcoal ink (#11161D / #22272E) on solid sunlit chalk (#FBFBF9), exceeding AAA contrast ratios.

Emerald Turf Facts Strips

Every game's verified facts ribbon uses pure white and pale mint typography over deep Championship Turf Emerald (#0E6E3A), keeping pricing, adverts, accounts and chat disclosures crisp at 12px and upward.

Knapped Flint & Pyrite Gold

The broadcast navigation bar, action trays and footer grounds pair deep knapped flint (#14181F) with sunlit chalk and bright pyrite gold (#F2B729) for unmistakable hierarchy.

  • No frosted glass over busy art: Text never floats unprotected over low-contrast photography. Where display headings stand over the opening broadcast scene, they sit in a dedicated dark flint-smoke shelf with heavy obsidian drop-shadows.
  • Responsive zoom & reflow: Layouts reflow smoothly from a 320px phone viewport up to wide desktop monitors, supporting browser zoom up to 200% and 400% without horizontal scrolling or clipped text.
  • Minimum type scale: No text anywhere on the site is set smaller than 12px (0.75rem), and all body copy scales comfortably with user font preferences.

Section II · Kinetic Control

Silent, Pauseable Hero Video & Reduced Motion

prefers-reduced-motion: reduce

The opening stadium broadcast on our home page features an ambient looping video of Flintor Vane and Vollera Kestrel contesting a mid-air volley. We ensure that visitors remain in complete command of screen motion at all times:

1. Strictly Silent Broadcast

The hero video contains no audio track and is muted at the element level. It will never interrupt screen-reader speech synthesis or startle you with unexpected stadium sound.

2. Dedicated Pause & Play Toggle

A high-contrast, brass-bordered Pause / Play button sits pinned in the top-right corner of the hero stage. It is fully operable by mouse, touch or keyboard at any moment.

3. Automatic Still Replacement

When your operating system or browser has Reduced Motion enabled (prefers-reduced-motion: reduce), the hero video does not autoplay; it is automatically replaced by the high-resolution painted still picture, and all ambient spark-sphere float animations and scroll transitions stand still.

Section III · Tactile Navigation & Semantics

Keyboard Navigation, Touch Targets & Screen Readers

Just as our featured browser games rely on responsive WASD and arrow-key inputs, FlintVolley is built so you can traverse every match card, expandable facts block and editorial guide using only a keyboard or assistive switch device.

Feature How It Works on FlintVolley
Skip to Main Content Pressing Tab on any page reveals a high-contrast Pyrite Gold Skip to main content link at the top-left of the screen, allowing you to bypass the navigation bar immediately.
Visible Focus Rings Every interactive link, button and disclosure toggle displays a solid 3px Pyrite Gold outline (#F2B729) with a 2px offset on :focus-visible.
Generous Touch Targets All navigation links, mobile menu toggles, facts-strip <summary> controls and official game buttons meet or exceed the WCAG 2.2 AA minimum target size of 24×24px (with primary buttons and mobile drawer links sized at 40px–48px tall).
No JavaScript Required Every word, game cover, verified facts strip (built with native HTML <details> and <summary> elements) and mobile navigation menu works completely even if JavaScript is disabled or fails to load.
Descriptive Alt Text & Landmarks Each page uses a single <h1> heading, logical <h2>–<h3> hierarchy, semantic landmarks (<header>, <main>, <nav>, <footer>), and descriptive alternative text for all character scenes and game covers while marking decorative stone textures with alt="".
Clear Outbound Game Links Every button leading to a game's official website includes a screen-reader announcement indicating that the link opens an external site in a new tab.

A Note on Third-Party Official Game Websites

FlintVolley is an independent editorial guide; we do not host or control the external browser games linked from our match cards. When you follow a Play on Official Site link to a publisher’s or developer’s own domain, the accessibility, keyboard remapping and audio controls of that game are governed by its respective creator. To help you prepare before leaving our stadium, every game card on our Match Card and Inside the Arenas guide clearly states how the game is controlled (such as mouse swipes, WASD or arrow keys) and whether it includes adverts, accounts, chat or in-game purchases.
